John Albert Carter, aged 83 of 134 South Street died in the Ouachita County Hospital at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. Carter was a native of Bradley County, and was a retired farmer and paper mill employee. He had lived in Camden for 19 years. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. He is survived by six daughters, Mrs. G. P. Finley, Mrs. A. M. Mann, Mrs. Wylie Johnson, Mrs. Foard Glaze, Mrs. Murphy Crawford, and Mrs. Raymond Dunn all of Camden; a half brother, Francis Cook of Banks; by seven grandchildren, and Five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Immanuel Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Greenwood Annex cemetery by Proctor Funeral Service. The body will lie in state at 134 South Street until service time. (Camden News - December 30, 1965)
