WARREN, Mary MARSHALL - Mrs. F.W. Warren died on yesterday (Wednesday) morning at 3 o'clock at Galveston, Texas. The remains will arrive on the 8 o'clock train tonight and the funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 10 o'clock at the Congregational church. No death that has occurred for a long time past has fallen upon our community with so much suddenness nor has caused so many expressions of deepest regret. So few of our citizens knew of Mrs. Warren's illness that they were wholly unprepared for the announcement of her death. It was just seven weeks ago today that we announced the wedding of Miss Mary Marshall of this city and Dr. F.W. Warren of Galveston. Their future seemed to promise happiness and joy but alas, how quickly it has been brought to a close. Mrs. Warren was taken ill with typhoid fever soon after her arrival at Galveston and in spite of the best care that could be secured she steadily declined until the angel of death called her to the eternal home above. The loss falls heavy upon the bereaved husband and the sorrowing relatives who can hardly realize how great is the blow that has come upon them. As for the deceased herself, a life long believer in Christ and Christianity she could rely upon the greatest promise ever given to the human race. Miss Mary Marshall was born September 15, 1870 at Marine, Ill. She was the only daughter of Mrs. E.J. Marshall of this city and it is upon the heart broken mother that the death is especially crushing. She was a resident of Rogers for nearly seventeen years and has always been one of the most energetic and faithful workers in the Congregational church here of which she was still a member at the time of her death. She was always very active in the Christian Endeavor work.
