Carl Poe

Carl Howard Poe, 77, of Fairview, Mo., died Wednesday, April 7, at St. Vincent Hospital, Monett, Mo.

He was born June 21, 1915, at Garfield to James Edward Poe and Mary Ellen Williams Poe. A farmer, he spent most of his life in Fairview where he was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors are his wife, Esther Poe; two daughters, Maxine Harris of Stark City, Mo., and Mary Ann Ryals of Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Florence Elswick of Monett, Mo.; and six grandchildren.

Graveside service and burial are set for 2 p.m. today at Ruddick Cemetery with Rob Jensen officiating under direction of Sisco Funeral Home, Pea Ridge.

SPRINGFIELD. Mo. — Esther Viola Poe, 81, of Springfield died Aug. 5, 2000, at Maranatha Manor Nursing Home in Springfield.

She was born Oct. 14, 1918, in Weatherford, Okla., to Albert Peter and Rebecca Ann Rodman Syawder.

She grew up and graduated school in Garfield.

She was a former resident of Seligman and Fairview, Mo. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Howard Poe, in 1993.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Ruddick Cemetery under the direction of Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.
