Mrs. Ella Standerford
Mrs. Ella Standerford, wife of the late J. H. Standerford, departed this life at her home at Oxford, Ark., Dec 8th, after a brief illness. She was buried at Spring Hill Cemetery. Rev. Owen Love conducted the funeral.
Mrs. Standerford was born in Georgia seventy-five years ago and during her childhood moved with relatives to Arkansas locating in Fulton County, where she met and was married to James H. Standerford, whose death occurred in 1924. Three sons were born to this union, who survive as follows: Thos. and William Standerford of Violet Hill and Robert of Oxford. After several years residence at Salem the family moved to Oxford about 20 years ago.
Deceased was a member of the M. E. Church, living a true and consistent member of same from the time she professed faith in Christ many years ago. Her daily walks of life at her home and among her neighbors and friends were marked with the same degree of love and fidelity that characterized her Christian life, for hers was truly a life of service. Her life and character have been a guiding influence for those about her.
