Thos. M. Standerford Dies Tuesday Morning
Thomas M. Standerford, 60, died in a Batesville hospital Tuesday morning after suffering from heart ailment for over a year.
Burial was at Spring Hill cemetery near Oxford Wednesday afternoon. Services were conducted by Eld J. M. Rush and Rev R. E. Lee.
He was a member of the Methodist church and held a number of public positions of trust during his life. He was assistant cashier of the Bank of Franklin at the time of his death. He was born in Fulton County but spent most of his life at Oxford and Violet Hill.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Marvin Standerford, cashier of the Bank of Franklin; a daughter, Mrs. Tressie Box, postmaster at Violet Hill and two brothers, R. L. Standerford of Oxford and Will Standerford of Wiseman.
