John W. Howard

BENTONVILLE — John Wesley Howard, 74, died Oct. 2, 2006, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers. He was born Feb. 13, 1932, in Okmulgee, Okla., to William Iva and Mary Elizabeth Fuller Howard. He was a leader of the Royal Rangers in the Assembly of God Church. His hobbies included singing and playing guitar. He was a master wood-carver.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby of the home; his daughters, Linda Hardaway of Meridan, Idaho, Reba Metcalf of Springdale and Lora "Lolly" McClellan of Fowler, Ind.; one brother, Gene Howard of Goshen; sisters, Geneva Kazda of Patterson, Calif, Norma Frazier of Fresno, Calif, Doris Lisle of Springdale, Frances Hall of Bentonville; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at ll a.m. Friday at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers, online at www.rollinsfuneral.com. James Howard will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery at Gravette.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Scott Crouch, Billy Frank, John Frank, Steve Rider, Michael Schatz and David Taylor.
