SPRINGDALE — Melvin Albert Howard, 68 of Springdale, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at his home. He was born Jan. 13, 1947 in Berryville, Ark. to Johnny M. and Vinnie Lois Filbeck Howard.
Melvin worked in Quality Control for Fibertek. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a dedicated Razorback fan. He also drove a Bus for the Springdale Public School System for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Marleen Howard of the home; one son, Stephen Howard of Lowell; one daughter, Lisa Howard and fiance, Richard of Lowell; four brothers, Merle Howard and wife Ina of Broken Arrow, Okla., James Howard and wife Vickie of Greenbrier, Ark., Johnny Howard and wife Dorothy of Cave Springs and Jerry Howard of Springdale; three grandchildren, Stephanie Hutchins, Michael Howard and David Kort; two great-grandchildren, Joshua Hutchins and Lillie Hutchins; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 8, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with David Wasson officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
