Mrs. McVey Died Wed. At Her Home
Mrs Alice Buttler McVey was born July 10, 1881 and passed away October 17, 1956, at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 7 days.
She was converted early in life and united with the Baptist Church at Pleasant Ridge. Later she moved her membership to Mt. Zion Baptist Church at Wideman, Ark., where she remained until death.
She was united in marriage to J. A. McVey on July 2, 1902. They became the parents of 12 children.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, Arlin of Calico Rock, Earl of Oxford, Granville of Ft. Bliss, Texas, Elmer of Topnish, Wash., and Homer of Fayetteville, North Carolina; seven daughters, Elva Soden of Moxie City, Wash., Addie Carey and Hettie McGaha of Wenatchee, Wash., Nettle Duren of Merced, Calif., Alma Porterville and Maude Yancey of Wideman, Ark., and Estell Tate of Ft. Smith, Ark.; 34 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer Buttler of Bradford, Ark., and Delbert Buttler of Newport, Ark., one sister, Mrs. Hettie Coe of Newport; and a host of other relatives and friends.
