Veda Hughes, 81

Mrs. Veda "Granny" Hughes, age 81 of Mountain Home passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House. Veda Hughes was born November 22, 1930 in Wild Cherry, Arkansas to Edward and Goldie (Key) Moser. She married Abija Hughes December 17, 1948 in Mountain Home. She enjoyed yard work and making Afghans.

Mrs. Veda Hughes is survived by one daughter; Jennifer Douget (Randal) of Wasilla, Alaska, 3 grandchildren; Aaron Douget of Kenai, Alaska, Hanna Douget of Wasilla, Alaska, and Christina Hughes of Harrison; one great-granddaughter; sister, Wanda Herrold of Mountain Home, and a very special young friend, Penelope. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Abija Hughes; son, Rolland Hughes, and sister, Maxine Reppell.

Visitation for Mrs. Hughes will be Noon - 9 PM Thursday at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday at the First Christian Church with Rev. Lewis Godbey officiating. Burial will be in Arkana Cemetery.
