Son of Mr. & Mrs. William Houston Hughes.
Married Bonnie Ruth Parnell, January 16, 1938, Norfork, Baxter County, Arkansas.


Services for James Robert Hughes, 81, of Norfork will be at 2PM Saturday at the Norfork Church of Christ with Bro. Don Pfalser officiating. Visitation will be from 9AM to 9PM today at Roller Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Galatia Cemetery.
Mr. Hughes died Tuesday (Sep 22, 1992) at Calico Rock Medical Center.
Pallbearers will be E.J. Weatherford, Lee Aldon Gray, Dustan Foret, James Wilbur, H.L. McQueen and Vernon Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be Udell Southard, Willie Parnell, Alex Hamilton, F.L. Harvey, Carl Sheid and Vero Greer.
Mr. Hughes was born on June 10, 1911, and was a lifelong Norfork resident. He worked as a laborer for the Missouri Pacific Railroad for 30 yers. He married Bonnie Ruth Parnell on Jan 16, 1938, at Norfork and was a member of the Norfork Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of the home; one son, Jack Hughes of Norfork; two daughters, Betty Ripple of TX and Wilma Wilbur of Mt. Home; one sister, Elsie Kirby of Norfork; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both parents, a daughter and a sister.
