Rosie Brumley Smith, 89, of Batesville, died Sunday morning in a Little Rock hospital. Born near Sulphur Rock, she was the daughter of Barney and Viney Strother Brumley. She was a homemaker and a member of the Jamestown Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Henry Smith of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Junior Smith of Sacramento, Calif.; four daughters, Irene Cook of Southside, Christine Candler of Jamestown, Virginia McAllister of Shelby Township, Mich., and Wanda Maddox of Little Rock; a sister Retha Chumbley of Searcy; 29 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Smith; and two sons Eugene Smith and Olen Smith. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Jamestown Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery on Hutchinson Mountian with arrangements by Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville. Pallbearers will be Paul Smith, Charles Turner, Clifford Candler, Nathan McAllister, Lee Maddox and Timothy Smith.
