Obituary
Gene Smith, 82, of Cushman, died Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at White River Medical Center.

He was born at Moccasin Creek, near Calico Rock, Arkansas on July 15, 1931 to John Smith and Mary Herndon Smith.

He enjoyed trail riding, classic cars, shooting pool, and playing dominoes. Cushman was home to him after he started working at a garage there in the early 1950's.

He is survived by three children: a son, Phil Kimmer of Cushman; two daughters: Carlia Smith of Little Rock and Becky Wood of Cushman; six grandchildren: Maribeth Henderson, Jamie Pool, Jodi Brock, Jennifer Caraway, Tiffany Williams, and Jesse Wood; and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers: Howard Smith and James "Tiny" Smith both of Batesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Perry Gene Smith; a grandson, James Brandon Kimmer; and two brothers: Billy Smith and Carl Dean Smith.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Roller-Crouch Chapel in Batesville with Bro. Ben Ryan officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Cushman under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
