Leo Ray Candler, age 83, of Batesville, Arkansas was promoted Tuesday, May 3, 2005. He was born August 25, 1921 in Dallas, Wisconsin. He was a pastor, missionary, husband, father and a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Rock Island, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his wife Christine Candler; parents John Henry and Maude Mary Candler; brothers Johnnie, Carl, Harry, Earl, Orrie and Norman Candler; sister Ida Maukey; and grandaughter Raerna Herren.
Those that rejoice in his promotion are his sisters; Fern Beel of Batesville, Ar and Ina Thomas of Wolestka, Ok.
Children; Clifford and wife Karen Candler of Choctaw, Ok; James and wife Gale Candler of Rock Island, Il; Rose Mary Herren of Garland, TX; Carol and husband Ed Heflin of Russellville, Ar; Michael and wife Cindy Candler of Bridgeton, Mo; and Victor Candler of Garland, TX.
Grandchildren; Doug and wife Mary Candler; Rachael and husband David Eagan; Meridith and husand Michael Bergman; Jennifer and husband Bobby Bibb; Beth and husband Marc Britton; Matthew Candler; Alan Tippitt; Donna and husband Arthur Srebalus; Pam and husband Cecil Dennington; John Wicker; Julie Herren and Jayne Herren; Timothy Laramore; Tina Laramore; Kirsten and husband Ephraim Arendt; Sara and husband Brian Naess; Ruth Laramore; Aaron and wife Beck Heflin; Jessica, Melissa, Thomas and Rebecca Heflin; Brittany, Kaitlyn and Jeremy Candler.

The funeral will be at 1 pm Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Pleasant Grove. Burial will be in Hutchinson Mountain cemetery. Arrangements are by Willis-Hays Funeral Service of Batesville.
