Mable Jewel Hoggard, 92, of Conway passed away Tuesday February 7, 2012. She was born September 18, 1919 in Pierce Creek (Faulkner County) AR, to the late G. C. “Cleve” Steed and Mary Ann (Crow) Steed. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Amar L. Hoggard of Mayflower.
She is survived by her daughter, Lou Ann Hoggard, a brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Marthell Hoggard of Jacksonville, friend and caregiver Ruth Dycus of Mayflower, her cousins, nieces, and Nephews.
Mrs. Hoggard was a member of the Conway United Pentecostal Church. In her younger years, she had loved cooking, sewing, gardening, fishing, and helping with the family farms. In later years, she enjoyed visiting family and friends, eating out and shopping at Wal-Mart. She was a 1937 graduate of North Little Rock High School and attended Arkansas State Teachers College.
Serving as pallbearers were Gary Hoggard, Dale Hoggard, Wilson Mathis, Raymond Hoggard, Lonnie Hoggard, and Lynn Hoggard. Honorary pallbearers were Lewis Crow, Elroy Hoggard, and Harry Matthews.
