Oscar L. Strother, 88, of Hutchinson Mountain died Sunday in his home at 3546 Jamestown Loop. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Strother [Jr.]; his wife, Della May Strother; a grandson and a great granddaughter.
Survivors include two sons, Dwayne Strother and Jerry Strother, both of Hutchinson; a daughter, Betty Scoggin of Hutchinson; two brothers, Cecil Strother of North Carolina, and Everett Strother of Detroit, Mich; five sisters, Sarah Nash of Newport, Jewell Eden of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Artie Ball of California and Doris Haddock and Ellen Strother, both of Kansas City; nine grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hutchinson Church of Christ with Ed Higgenbotham, Floyd Rine and Bobby Parks officiating. Burial will be at Hutchinson Cemetery with his grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. today at the Davies Batesville Funeral Home.
