Perry Monroe Strother, 69, of Hutchinson Mountain died Thursday in a local hospital.
He was the son of Edgar Strother and Bessie Reed Strother Curtis. He was a retired truck driver and an employee of ConAgra Foods for 28 years. He was a member of the Hutchinson Mountain community board for the past 4 1/2 years. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Rorie Strother, a daughter, Jane Strother of Hutchinson Mountain; a foster daughter, Luann Norris of Poughkeepsie; two sisters, Paulina Crawford of Batesville and Willie May Martin of Rosie; three grandsons, Rodney Lee and Andy Lee, both of Hutchinson Mountain, and Nicholas Norris of Poughkeepsie; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Mary Jane Strother.
The funeral was Sunday at the Hutchinson Mountain Church of Christ with Floyd Rine officiating. Burial followed in the Hutchinson Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Batesville Funeral Service.
Pallbearers were Rodney Lee, Eric Norris, Russ Staggs, Freddy Goodman, Bill Cook and Harold Dean Vaughn.
Honorary pallbearers were Tim Breeden, Jimmy Hays, Dwayne Strother, Jim Simpson, Bob Hoppins, Jim Massey, Bob Strother, Floyd Evans, John Miller, Jerry Vaughn and Richard McNulty.
