GENTRY — Robert F. "Bud" Simmons, 76, of Gentry died Jan. 23, 2007, at Bentonville. He was born Oct. 14, 1930, in Rogers to John and Carrie Marie Bricker Simmons.
He was retired from the Army and had worked in sales. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the American Legion, National Rifle Association and the National Retired and Enlisted. He was preceded in death by his wife, Olive Opal Simmons, on Feb. 27, 2006, and one son, Rick Simmons, on May 24, 2003.
Survivors include his granddaughter, Kelli Latham and husband Glenn of Springdale; grandson, Rick Simmons Jr. of Rogers; great-granddaughter, Abigail Breann Latham of Springdale; brother, Howard Holt of Gentry; stepfather, Ralph Holt of Gentry; seven brothers.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Coffelt Cemetery near Vaughn with Bruce Holland officiating.
Military honors will be conducted by Bella Vista VFW Post 9063.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers, online at www.www.bentoncountyfuneralhome.com.

Olive Opal Rothrock Simmons, 70, of Gentry passed away Feb. 27, 2006, in Gentry. Mrs. Simmons was born June 15, 1935, in Highfill to Gordon Rothrock and Lottie Louise Smith Rothrock. She retired from the Clorox Co. in Rogers after 26 years of employment and was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by one son, Rick Simmons Sr., on May 24, 2003.
She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bud" Simmons of the home; one grandson, Rick Simmons Jr. and fiancee Misty Hill of Rogers; one granddaughter, Kelli and husband Glenn Latham of Springdale; one great-granddaughter, Abigail Breann Latham; two brothers. Roy Rothrock and wife Lorene of Weatherford, Texas, and Richard Rothrock and wife Murlene of Wichita Falls, Texas; four sisters. Vera Mae Garvin and husband William N. of Joplin, Mo., Ruby West and husband Ken of Enid, Okla., Nellie D. Doss and husband Jim of Tulsa, Okla., and Hazel Taylor and husband Warren of Wichita Falls, Texas.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 2 at Coffelt Cemetery in Vaughn with Bruce Holland officiating.
Arrangements are by Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers.
