Creta Betty Simmons, 70, of Siloam Springs died Sept. 4, 2004, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.

She was born July 3, 1934, in Chicago to Arthur and Marcia Coffee Furtcsam. She married Joe Simmons on Aug. 13, 1966.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Promiseland Church of Siloam Springs. She moved from California to Siloam Springs in 1978.

Survivors include her husband of the home; three daughters, Creta Serafin of Lake Elsinore, Calif., Cindi Hunter of Booneville and Charlotte Philpott of Siloam Springs; two sons, Douglas Newell of Riverside, Calif., and Shane Simmons of Siloam Springs; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. at Fairmount Cemetery, near Gentry, under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs. David Daniel will officiate. Visitation will he from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
