March 16, 1881 - March 10, 1973
Mrs. Marla Vada Norris, 91, of Junction City died Saturday in a local hospital after a brief illness. She was born March 16, 1881 in Spearsville, La., and was the daughter of Dee and Cathrin Taylor Shinpouch. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Junction City. Survivors include five sons, Louie Norris of Summerfield, La., LaVell Norris, Brodie Norris, and Lenox Norris all of Junction City, and Joe A. Norris of Albin, Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. Lola Thurman of Spearsville, La., Mrs. Aria Jones and Miss Clara Lee Norris, both of Junction City; 17 grandchildren, 22 great -grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church of Junction City with Rev. Stanley Wagner, Rev. Harold Cook and Rev. D. L. McCauley officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City Sunday morning and will remain there until one hour prior to service time. The family will be at the residence of Miss Clara Lee Norris at 509 E. 4th St. in Junction City. (The El Dorado Times - March 12, 1973)
