A. R. Dixon Dies Suddenly Dec. 25th
Adrian Rudolph Dixon died suddenly at his home in Calico Rock, Friday morning, December 25, 1953 following a heart attack. He was 52 years of age.
Mr. Dixon had been a resident of this section the greater part of his life. He was born in Dolph, where he spent the early part of his life. He was married to Miss Willie Hively September 28, 1923, to which union four children were born, all of whom survive. He was converted early in life and remained a faithful Christian until death. He leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn his passing.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, J. W. Dixon of Pineville and Dallas Dixon of Oxford; two daughters, Bonnie Mae and Pattie Lou of the home; and three grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Sallie Stone of Calico Rock, Mrs. Eunice Harris of Wild Cherry and Mrs. James Thrasher of Pauls Valley, Okla., and two brothers, A. R. Dixon of Wynnewood, Okla., and J. C. Dixon of Stratford, Okla.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. Y. Whitfield and Rev. Joe Matlock were held at Cross Roads Sunday, December 27 with interment in the Cross Roads cemetery. The Hall Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
Pall bearers were: Jack Seay, Victor Harber, Winfred Benbrook, Orbie D. King, Lindell Ducker, Donald Ducker.
