Meredith Lauren Dixon daughter of Luther Keith Dixon and Gwendolen Woods Dixon.
Meredith Lauren Dixon, daughter of Gwendolen Woods Dixon and Luther Keith Dixon, was born June 7, 1984, in Augusta, Ga. She died July 5, 2005, at her home in Melbourne at the age of 21.
Meredith was a 2003 graduate of Melbourne High School. At the time of her death she was employed at the Izard County Day Service Center. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of First Baptist Church in Melbourne.
Survivors include her mother, Gwendolen Woods Dixon of the home; her father, Luther Keith Dixon of Cabot; one brother, Liam Dixon of Cabot; two sisters -- Emily Dixon of Cabot and Hilary Dixon of the home; her maternal grandparents -- Charles and June Woods of Melbourne; a uncle, Charles R. Woods Jr. of Memphis, Tenn.; and a host of other relatives and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Nancy and Luther Dixon and her maternal great-grandparents, I.H. and Audie Frizzell.
The funeral service was held July 7 at First Baptist Church in Melbourne with Boyce Johnson and Ricky Burke officiating. Burial followed at Antioch Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers were Travis Woods, Mike Box, Tyler Box, Clint Bailey, Gerald Cooper and Kirk Miller.
Memorials may be made to the Spina Bifida Clinic at Children's Hospital in Little Rock.
