Joyce Carolyn Whitfield, three-day-old daughter of Allen Edgar and Hattie Adams Whitfield of Old Joe, died Wednesday, May 11, 1949. She was born May 8.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by four brothers, Roe Whitfield, Jack Whitfield, Levi Whitfield and Dean Whitfield; seven sisters, Elizabeth Neel, Oneida Stevens, Helen Whiitfield, Wilma Whitfield, Bobbie Whitfield, Patsy Whitfield and Norma Lea Whitfield; her paternal grandmother, Lizzie Whitfield; her maternal grandfather, Enoch Adams; and her maternal step grandmother, Stella Adams.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Jackson Whitfield and her maternal grandmother, Birdie Adams.
Rev. Walter Hutson, pastor of the Galatia Assembly of God Church, officiated at the funeral. Burial was in the Galatia Cemetery near Norfork.
