SHARP, Mollie J. - Mollie J. Sharp, a well known resident of Bentonville, died at her home on West A Street early Tuesday morning, July 29th following a second stroke of paralysis that occurred last Wednesday. Since that time she has been unconscious. The first stroke occurred about a year ago and she has been gradually getting worse since that time. She was born in Marion county, Ark. on Dec. 26th, 1846 and came to Bentonville about 50 years ago. For a number of years she and her sister, Mrs. R.D. Steward, ran the Globe Hotel, which stood at the time, 1878, on the site of the U.S. Weather Bureau. When this was built, about 20 years ago, the hotel was moved to the lots east. This was the leading hotel in this section for many years and was called for many years the Texas House. The post office was also located in this building at one time when "Sheep" Davis was postmaster. Aunt Mollie, as she was familiarly called, is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Dora Yoder, of the home address, and two sisters, Mrs. R.D. Steward of Eufala, Okla. and Mrs. George Bennett of Catale, Okla., both of whom were present during her last illness. Mrs. Willie Cline, living east of town on the Jack Bates farm, is a niece. Funeral services, which were conducted from the house Tuesday afternoon, were largely attended. She leaves a large number of old friends who will miss her. During the earlier days of her life it was filled with acts of kindness to both the needy and afflicted. During cases of severe illness it was Aunt Mollie who was sent for and who nursed them back to health.

SHARP, Dora - Miss Dora Sharp, 67-year-old Bentonville woman, died Friday afternoon about 30 minutes after she had been found unconscious at her home. Miss Sharp, who lived alone, was believed to have suffered an apoplectic stroke while preparing breakfast and had been in an unconscious condition several hours before her plight was discovered. She was found when neighbors called at the home and a physician was called but she died within half an hour. Her mother, Mrs. Mollie Sharp, died suddenly several years ago.
