Mr. Marlin Lee Kitchens, aged 71, of Jersey, formerly of El Dorado died Tuesday, March 4, 1986 in Jersey. He was a son of Walter Edward and Bessie Bea Reynolds Kitchens, and was born in Jersey, February 2, 1915. Mr. Kitchens was a retired oil field worker and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Zadie Smith Kitchens; two sons, John Walter Kitchens of Freeport, Texas and Billy Ray Kitchens of Jersey; two daughters, Mrs. Flora D. Gilbert of Hampton and Mrs. Bessie Mae Reed of Jersey; two brothers, Ellis Kitchens of Prescott, Arizona and Sam Bob Kitchens of St. Louis, Missouri; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Cruse of Chillicothe, Missouri; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral service was held Friday, March 7, 1986 at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Jersey with Rev. Carl Tate and Rev. Raymond Naylor officiating. Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Smith, Orin Williams, Dennis Dixon, Curtis Smith, Jr., James Howard Smith, Earl Gorman, Doyle Wayne Smith, and Gordon Anders.

Zadie Smith Kitchens died Thursday ,January 24, at Bradley County Medical Center. Born November 18, 1917 at Gravelridge, AR. She was the daughter of John Riley Smith and Nancy Jane Forrest Smith. She married Marlin Lee Kitchens on April 11, 1936. He died March 4, 1986. Preceding her in death were brothers Curtis Smith, Ermer Smith and Doyle Dempsey Smith, sister Allie Montgomery. Survivors are 2 sons, John Walter Kitchens, Freeport, TX.,and Billy Ray Kitchens, Jersey, AR, 2 daughters Flora Gilbert, Hampton, AR.,and Bessie Mae Reed, Jersey, AR., 3 brothers Cloyce Smith, Johnsville, AR., Jaker Smith, Banks, AR., Lincoln Smith, El Dorado, AR. 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.
