LITTLE ROCK — Araminta Richardson, 93, of Little Rock died June 2, 2006, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born Sept. 27, 1912, in Pecan Cap, Texas, to Davis and Mittie Ross Richardson. She was a member of Farmington Baptist Church and the American Legion Post in Lincoln. She served in the Navy during World War II as a pharmacist's mate 2nd class in Charleston, S.C., where she was an X-ray technician and developed her interest in photography. She taught piano, organ and voice throughout Northwest Arkansas for many years. While living in Bentonville and Cane Hill, she was instrumental in founding the Cane Hill Pioneer Days and the Cane Hill College Museum. She received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in music from Southern Methodist University.
Survivors include one sister, Mary Tindall of Texas, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Farmington Baptist Church with Preston Beeks officiating. Burial will be in National Cemetery at Fayetteville.
Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove, online at www.luginbuel.com.
