Vida "Nadine" Daggett Mize, 82, of East Moline, Ill., formerly of Milan, Ill., died Dec. 6, 2009, at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline.

Born June 30, 1927, in Saffell, she was the daughter of Simon and Augusta Mae Godwin Daggett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.S. Mize, in 1985, whom she married Sept. 9, 1942; a sister, Marie Frakes, and two brothers, Cordi Daggett and Nolan Daggett.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Mize and wife Benita, Coyne Center, Ill., and Gary Mize and wife Vickie, Coal Valley, Ill.; four grandchildren, Derrick Mize, Chad Mize, Carrie Spence and Kyle Mize; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral is Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Harmony Free Will Baptist Church in Saffell with Stanley Vandergriff officiating. Burial will be in Godwin Cemetery, near Saffell, under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Lynn.

Pallbearers will be Keith Mize, Dennis Sullivan, Kyle Mize, Chad Mize, Eddie Ray Doyle and Scotty Huskey.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of the service.

Funeral services for Vida “Nadine” Mize, 82, of East Moline, IL, formerly of Milan, IL, will be 11:00 AM Saturday at the Mount Harmony Freewill Baptist Church, Saffell, AR. Burial will be in Godwin Cemetery in Saffell. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline and 9:00-11:00 AM prior to services Saturday at the church in Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the family.

Mrs. Mize died Sunday, December 6, 2009 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Nadine Daggett was born June 30, 1927 in Saffell, AR, the daughter of Simon and Augusta Mae Godwin Daggett.

She married J.S. Mize September 9, 1942. He died in 1985.

She had been a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Benita Mize of Coyne Center, IL, Gary and Vickie Mize of Coal Valley, IL; grandchildren, Derrick (Wendy) Mize, Chad (Betsy) Mize, Carrie (Bryan) Spence, Kyle Mize; great grandchildren, Emma and Elle Spence, Jack and Madison Mize, Zoey and Sophia Mize. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Marie Frakes, brothers, Cordi and Nolan Daggett.
