Carl Clarence Barton, 70 year old resident of Gravette, Ark., was dead on arrival at the Gravette Medical Center Hospital Friday, Aug. 11, after a sudden illness. Mr. Barton was born March 28, 1908 at Gravette, and had been a longtime resident of this area. He was a retired carpenter
and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Ira O. Barton of Santa Rosa, Calif.; three brothers, Kenneth of Portland, Ore., Hubert of Calhoon, Mo., and Eugene of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Beulah Shimpaugh of Gravette, and Mrs.
Hazel Marlin of Sperry, Okla.; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Funeral services were held for Mr. Barton Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church at Gravette with Rev. Steve Brittian officiating. Burial was in the Decatur Cemetery under the direction of the Pyeatte Funeral Service.
