LITTLE DENNIS DUNCAN
Funeral services for Little Dennis Daniel Duncan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey P. Duncan, were conducted Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Mount Pleasant church, Rev. Arthur Hart officiating. Burial was made in the Mount Pleasant cemetery.
Little Dennis Duncan was born on Oct. 23rd, 1925, and departed this life on Feb. 2nd. 1936, at the age of 10 years, three months, and 10 days. Although somewhat expected, his going was a shock and sorrow to us all. His death was due to an illness caused by scarlet fever which he had in November.
He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed by his parents, relatives, teacher, classmates and friends. His place at home and at school never can be filled. He was a loving, kind, studious and obedient child and his little life seemed to be a blessing on the earth. But Jesus has seen best to take Dennis to be with Him.
He leaves beside his parents, three little sisters, Dorothy Dell, Emma Louis and Norman Grace; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Daniels and Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Duncan; three uncles, five aunts, other relatives and a host of friends.
You are gone, our little darling,
And have left us here alone,
But by faith we see you standing
Beside Jesus on the throne.
You are gone, my darling pupil,
Here your face I’ll see no more,
But I known you’re safely landed,
On that beautiful Golden Shore.
We will miss you, Little Dennis,
To have you gone it gives us pain.
But we would not; no, we would not,
Call you back to earth again.
But we shall meet you, Darling Dennis,
Over on that Celestial Shore,
We will meet you there with Jesus,
And never part no more.
