James “Ivan” Duncan, 89, of Decatur, Arkansas, died August 12, 2009, at Circle of Life Hospice, Springdale, Arkansas. Born September 6, 1919, in Centerton, Arkansas, he was the son of James Blaine Duncan and Ellen Jamison Duncan. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. Ivan worked for Peterson Farms for 54 years and was a production manager. He was also an Appraiser for Decatur State Bank and was a lifelong farmer. He married Betty Lou Barlow in Jasper, Arkansas. Ivan was a member of the United Methodist Church, Decatur, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by one son, David Duncan; three brothers, Orville Duncan, Leon Duncan, and Bob Duncan; and one sister, Angie Ladd.

Survivors include his wife Betty of the home; one son, Jay Duncan and wife Virginia of Decatur, Arkansas; three grandchildren; Carrie Stipple and husband Jake of Springtown, Texas, David Duncan and wife Audrey and Brian Duncan, all of Decatur, Arkansas; three brothers, JD Duncan of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Wilburn Duncan of Decatur, Arkansas and Kenneth Duncan of Avoca, Arkansas; and three great grandchildren, K. James, Gavin, and Noah.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2009, at the United Methodist Church, Decatur, Arkansas, with Frank Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery, Decatur, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2009, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

Betty Lou Duncan, 86, of Decatur, Arkansas, died March 20, 2014, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Born August 30, 1927, in Gravette, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barlow. Betty was a graduate of Gravette High School. She was a member of the Easter Star in Decatur, and the Decatur United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Duncan and her son, David Blaine Duncan.

Survivors include one son, Jay Duncan of Decatur, Arkansas; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 24, 2014, at The Decatur United Methodist Church, Decatur, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday March 22, 2014, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
