BLOCHER, Elizabeth A. Spencer - Mrs. E.A. Blocher died at the family home in Bentonville last Saturday at the age of 80 years and 4 months. After a short funeral service by Rev. Fryar at the residence other services were held at Oakley Chapel where she was laid beside her husband who passed away about 45 years ago. A large number of her many friends attended the services to pay their last respects to one who has made her home here for so long a time. Mr. and Mrs. Blocher came here in 1870 from Albany, Mo. Her children were all present at the funeral. They are: Prof. Joseph Blocher of Longview, Texas and county superintendent of schools here some years ago; J.M. Blocher, the well known evaporator man of this city; Mrs. Y.A. Gilmore of Conway and Amos Spencer, who lives south of town.

In last week's Record there was a mistake. It was the Rev. J.R. Campbell who conducted the funeral services of Mrs. E.A. Blocher at the home and the Rev. J.M. Fryar, now of Centerton, who officiated at Oakley's Chapel.

{from Oakley Chapel} The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Blocher was held at the Chapel Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. She died Saturday morning at her home in Bentonville at the age of 80 years. Mrs. Blocher came to Arkansas in 1871 and located in this neighborhood and lived here a long time. Later she moved to Bentonville. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Mattie Gilmore of Conway, Ark. and three sons: A.L. Spencer of Oakley Chapel; Joe Blocher of Longview, Texas and Jim Blocher of Bentonville. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Fryar of Centerton circuit.
