A graveside service for Robert 'R.L.' Martin, 71, of Norfork will be 10AM Saturday at Norfork Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon-9PM today at Roller Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6-8PM. Mr. Martin passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at Baxter Regional Medical Center.
He was born Nov 30, 1930, in Culp to Rudolf and Lela Watley Martin. He married Louise Talburt on Dec 25, 1947, in Missouri. He was a cement mason and a guide on the White and North Fork Rivers and on Lake Norfork. The Martins moved back to Norfork in 1994, after retirement from Denver. He enjoyed farming, elk hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Martin of the home; three children, Linda Jones and her husband Dan, of Moore, OK, Jerry Samuel Martin of Evergreen, CO and Timothy R. Martin of Denver; three grandsons; one great grandson; two sisters, Hazel Alexander of Mt. Home and Ruby Lou Jackson and her husband, Gerald, of Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David Robert; and one sister Betty Rose Wood.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
