James A. “Sonny” Coleman, 78, of Fort Smith, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on May 5, 2016 in a local Fort Smith hospital.
He was born on December 29, 1937 to James A. and Marie (Lux) Coleman, Sr.

He was a retired salesman for Ballenger Wholesale and a maintenance technician for ERC Properties.

He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Wayne Coleman and his daughter, Sherrie Fairrell, his sisters, Carolyn Preston, Frances Seaman and Marie Stroud and a brother John Coleman.

He was of the Baptist faith

Graveside funeral services will be 2:00PM, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel, the family will visit with friends from 1-2PM prior to the service at Woodlawn.
Burial will follow the service in Woodlawn Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jane Coleman of the home; two daughters, Carla Gabbard and her husband Rick of Fort Smith, AR and Paula Cameron and her husband Dean of Cameron, OK; two sisters Shirley Lively of Fort Smith, AR and Patricia Brody of Van Buren, AR; a brother, Roy Coleman of Fort Smith, AR; four grandchildren, Brandon Fairrell, Jessica and Kimberly Tomlin and Dakotah Kelley and two great grandchildren, Zoe Fairrell and Makynzye Husdpeth.

Pallbearers are Richie London, Dean Cameron, Josh Hudspeth, Brandon Fairrell, Chuck Miller and Alan Clifton.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dakotah Kelley, Rick Gabbard, Mike Gilham and Roy Coleman.
