Hamp Strickland, 94 of Hampton died Friday October 2, 2020 at St. John’s place in Fordyce. Born January 29, 1926 at Hampton, he was a son of the late William A. Strickland and Mattie Inzer Strickland. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was an insurance agent for Shelter Insurance. He was a used car salesman and a friend to a lot of people.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Annie Jo Proctor Strickland; several brothers and sisters; and one grandchild.
He is survived by three sons, Billy Joe Strickland and his wife, Jerita of Duncanville, TX, Charles Glynn Strickland and his wife, Patsy of Hampton, Jerry Wayne Strickland of Hampton; one sister, Ella Mae Parrott of Hampton; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at New Hope Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Ables officiating. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce/Hampton.
