*Obituary
Edward Raymond Strickland, 76, of Hensley, AR passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at his home. He was born October 19, 1937 in Hampton, AR to the late Edward and Beatrice Bowen Strickland.
Edward was born and raised in Hampton, AR and graduated from Hampton High School in 1957. He was voted Most Likely to Succeed and Most Athletic. He holds the record high jump at 6'1; participated in track, football, and basketball. Fans would shout "Rooster" and stomp their feet as he entered the court or football field. Edward was a fervent prayer warrior. Edward was the most unselfish man; always trying to help others anyway he could. He took great care of all he had and would sell it for pennies on the dollar to make others wishes come true.
Edward is survived by his loving friend, as they were brother and sister in Christ, Saprina Hall. He raised her two daughters, LaTasha and Emily Mohi. He is also survived by a host of cousins.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Ray and Alan Strickland; and step-daughter, Emily.
