Thomas F. Ross, 89, of Fort Smith passed away Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, in Fort Smith. He was a retired salesman for Champion International. In his later years, he operated the Fort Smith Trolley, and he loved his work as a conductor on the Arkansas-Missouri Railroad excursion train. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Gleaners Sunday School Class, Noon Exchange Club, 32nd degree Mason and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at Roebuck Chapel with a private family committal at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. He is survived by a daughter, Linda Ross Olson and her husband John of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a son, Bob Ross of Fort Smith; three grandchildren, Jennifer St. Clair and Stephanie Stehl, both of Owasso, Okla., and Robert Ross Jr. of Fort Smith; and four great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Girard, Charlie Jimerson, Doc Eliss, Henry and Daniel Moore, Al Baker, Dave Kerr, Jeff Cotton, Haskell Jefferies, Tom LeClair and the Gleaners Sunday School Class. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Smith Boys and Girls Club, 4905 N. O St., Fort Smith, AR, 72904; Girls Inc., 622 N. Seventh St., Fort Smith, AR 72901; or First United Methodist Church, 200 N. 15th St., Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Geraldine
July 31, 1921 - February 6, 2000

Geraldine "Gerry" Ross, 78, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, in a local hospital.

She retired as a secretary/treasurer for Ross Custom Woodworking, Inc. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Gleaners Sunday School Class, Sparks Guild and Fianna Hills Bridge Club.

Memorial service was Wednesday in Roebuck Chapel of First United Methodist Church of Fort Smith with a private family burial at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; one daughter, Linda Olson of Tulsa; one son, Bob of Fort Smith; one brother, John Garrett of Tracy, Minn. and three grandchildren, Jennifer Olson St. Clair of Claremore, Okla., Stephanie Olson Stehl of Tulsa and Robert Thomas Ross Jr. of Fort Smith.

Pallbearers were Don Flanders, Dr. Bill Klusmeier, Ed Bedwell, Pat Gillespie, Dr. Art Martin and Dr. John D. Olson.
