DECATUR — Estes M. Philpott, 76, of Decatur died Jan. 14, 2008, at Northwest Medical Center-Bentonville. He was born April 16, 1931, in Decatur to Frank Philpott and Violet Wilmoth Philpott.
He grew up and was educated in Decatur. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He married Erlene Carlile Wise, on April 20, 1964. He was a long-haul truck driver before he began working as a meat inspector for U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was a cattle farmer in the Decatur area. He served as justice of the peace in Benton County from 1998 to 2000. He was a member of the Masons, the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Erlene Philpott of Decatur; three sons, Douglas Wise of Wichita, Kan., Bradley Wise of Bentonville and Phillip Philpott and wife Donna of Conway; one daughter, Tammy Johnston and husband Donald of Springdale; one brother, Van Philpott of Decatur; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Bella Vista Funeral Home, www.funeralmation.com. Dr. Richard Hogan will officiate.
Burial will be in Falling Springs Cemetery.

GRAVEETTE — Erlene J. Philpott, 84, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, Feb.10, 2017. She was born on Dec. 10, 1932, in Elkhart, Kan., to Frank and Bertha Carlile.
She worked at the Gravette Shelling Company for over 20 years as a bookkeeper. What she enjoyed most of all was being a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was active in her church and with the Gravette Senior Citizens Center. In the past few years, she also enjoyed volunteering at the Harvest Church food pantry.
She was married to the late Estes M. Philpott on April 20, 1964, at the First Christian Church in Gravette. They were married for 43 years before his passing in 2008. She remained living on their farm until her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Vern Carlile; and a sister, Sally McGuire.
She is survived by three sons, Doug W. Wise of Gravette, Bradley Wise of Bentonville, Phillip and wife Donna Philpott of Conway; one daughter, Tammy and husband Donald Johnston Jr. of Springdale; one brother, Jim and wife Anne Carlile of Georgetown, Texas; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, at Heritage Baptist Church, 307 4th Ave. S.E., Gravette, Ark. 72736. Burial will be at the Falling Springs Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Baptist Church.
