Kenneth Ellis Philpott, 24, Wichita, Kan., was killed in a traffic accident Dec. 21, near Independence, Mo. Born Sept. 24, 1953, at Siloam Springs, he was the son of Kenneth E. and Patsy Ruth Ratcliff Philpott. He was a private first class with the U.S. Marines and was between duty stations at the time of his death.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Loma K. Philpott, Decatur; one daughter, April Dawn Philpott, Wichita, Kan.; his father and stepmother of Wichita, Kan.; his mother (address unknown); two sisters, Mrs. Linda R. Greene, Alexander, and Mrs. Beverly Baty, Owasso, Okla.; one stepsister, Mrs. Laura Faye Bohall, Maysville; and one half brother, Rickey Philpott, Noel, Mo.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, in the chapel of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, with the Rev. Kenneth Payne officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery under the direction of Wasson.
