Bette King, 87, of Fort Smith, died May 24, 2010 in Fort Smith.
She was born November 9, 1922 in Holden, MO to Jerome and Katherine Fortney Hammond.
She was the Co-Owner of Acme Industrial Laundry.
She is survived by one daughter Terry Cross and her husband Danny of Fort Smith; four grandchildren, Michell Cole and husband Kevin of Fort Smith, Donnie Cross of Fort Smith, Dr. Brian Cross and wife Barbara of Lexington, KY, and Danna Rodebush and her husband Nick of Barling: seven great grandchildren, Kylie and Clay Cross of Poteau, Jordan and Emilee Cole of Fort Smith, Ryan Rodebush of Barling, Logan and Leighton Cross of Lexington, KY.
She was preceded in death by her husband R. George King and one sister Aggie Byers.
Graveside service was 10:00 AM Friday, May 28, 2010 in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Dr. Tim Waack, Dr. Carl Friddle, Jan Taylor, and Rusty Peoples.
Honorary Pallbearers were Champ Hinton, Norris Taylor, and Gerald Cross.
