Wanda known to many as “Nanny” or simply “Sis”, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 26, 1946 to the late Sam and Geraldine Taunton.
She graduated from Strong High School and attended college at UAM.
Wanda retired from El Dorado Chemical Company in 2014, after 37 years of employment. She loved a good back porch sit while visiting with family and friends, and watching her great-grandkids make laps around the house on the golf cart.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband of 36 years, Glen Norsworthy, and her brother, Jerry Taunton.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Marianne Ward (Robbie) of Waco, TX; her daughter, Glenda Webb (Tony) of Rockport, TX; her son, Michael Norsworthy (Robin) of Strong; four grandchildren; Brittany Stauts (Chris) of Victoria, TX, Hallie Pratt (Justin) of Strong, Kelsey Dickson (John) of Strong and Sam Norsworthy (Karah) of Hot Springs; seven great-grandchildren: Chloe, Noah, Jacee, Hadley, Gentry Reid, Beau, Harvey Finn, Brady and two more on the way; her lifelong dearest friend and cousin, Peggy Fairris (Sam) of Strong. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 5, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Perry’s Funeral Chapels in El Dorado, AR.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July, 6, 2021 at the New London Cemetery.
