Funeral services for Jewell Cottrell, 66, Rt. 1, El Dorado, were held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Rumph Mortuary Chapel. Rev. W. W. Barron will officiate and burial followed in the Rest Haven Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Rumph. He died Thursday after a brief illness. He was born in Union County July 24, 1899, the son of William D. and Kitt Barber Cottrell. He was a lifelong resident of Union County and a member of Parkers Chapel Methodist Church. He was also a retired senior operator at Monsanto Chemical Co. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Pauline Cameron Cottrell; one son, Glynn C. Cottrell, Shreveport, La.; 3 brothers, Audrey Cottrell, Alvin Cottrell and Espie Cottrell, all of El Dorado; 3 sisters, Mrs. Ollis Primm, Mrs. Marie Perdue, both of El Dorado, and Mrs. Annie Clark of Camden; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were A. O. Rhodes, John Henry Young, Don Maynard, Lloyd Kundert, Howard Stringfellow and John P. Barker. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Larkin Wilson and members of the Men's Sunday School class of Parkers Chapel Methodist Church. (The El Dorado Times - November 26, 1965)
