November 20, 1935 - October 31, 2018
Alton "Pops" Massey, 82, of El Dorado, went home to be with Jesus, Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, AR.
Alton was born November 20, 1935 in Jonesboro, AR to the union of Ernest Massey and Ora Johnson Massey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, one brother, a daughter, a great granddaughter and a son-in-law.
Alton retired after 19 years service with Texas Eastern, and was a member of the Gethsemane Baptist Church. He was an avid reader, loved doing puzzle books and was a Dallas Cowboy Fan. Alton will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Ruth Massey, three daughters, Holly Hallett, Barbara Shively and husband Jim, and Lisa Hudson and husband Keith, one son, Mark Massey and wife Clyda, son-in-law, Terry L Darden, two brothers, Jimmy Massey and wife Shirley, and Elwood Massey and wife Carolyn, fourteen grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren and his special K-9 baby, Angel
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Bailey Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2018 in the Chapel of Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado, with Rev. Bob Inmon and Bro. Terry Micheal Darden officiating. Interment will be in the Resthaven Memorial Park, under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado, AR.
Pallbearers will be, Brandon Darden, Jessie Kemper, Christopher King, Paul Burns, Lane Kelley, Patrick Johnson, Chandler King, and Ryan Sausbury.
