Charlene Amanda Bates, 88, of Searcy passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at White County Medical Center.
She was born January 18, 1926 to the late Charlie and Alberta Sisson Barnett in Gum Springs, Arkansas.
She was a born again Christian. She was an avid homemaker and loved her kids. She also loved working in her flower bed.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Alven Bates; three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by one son, Charles Randall Bates of Lonoke, Arkansas; two daughters, Shirley Spradlin (Joe) of Pangburn, Arkansas, and Betty Smith (Jerry Don) of Searcy, Arkansas; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2014 at Henderson Cemetery in Pangburn under the direction of Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.

Noah Alvin Bates, 87, of Wilton, AR passed away May 22, 2013 in Ashdown, AR.
Mr Bates was born August 14, 1925 in Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his son, Alvin Bates; and one stepson, Jack Cavazos.
Survivors include, his wife, Betty Bates of Wilton, AR; one son and daughter-in-law, Randy & Rachel Bates of Lonoke, AR; two daughters & sons-in-law, Shirley & Joe Spradlin of Pangburn, AR, and Betty Sue & Jerry Don Smith of Searcy, AR; two step daughters & spouse, Rhonda & J.D. Hudspeth of Conway, AR, and Windy Brewer of Colorado; numerous grandchildren & great-Grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday Evening May 24, 2013 from 5 to 7 pm at Madden Funeral Home in the Chapel in Ashdown, AR.
Funeral Service will be Saturday May 25, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Madden Funeral Home in the Chapel in Ashdown, AR with Rev. Ed Root officiating.
Burial will be Tuesday May 28, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Henderson Cemetery in Pangburn, AR.
