*When Margaretta Kunkel was born on May 16, 1837, in Frammersbach, Bavaria, Germany, her father, Hartmann, was 53, and her mother, Eva, was 42. She married Levi 1929 Chandler and they had three children together. She then married James J. 1823 Bates and they had six children together. She died on November 26, 1920, in Rose Bud, Arkansas, having lived a long life of 83 years, and was buried there.
When Levi 1929 Chandler was born on September 4, 1829, in Alabama, his father, Benjamin, was 20 and his mother, Lucinda, was 20. He married Margaretta 1837 Kunkel on September 25, 1855, in Hickman, Tennessee. They had three children during their marriage. He died as a young father on December 31, 1862, in Perry, Tennessee, at the age of 33.
