Etta
October 5, 1926 - November 1, 2016

Etta Mae Lyons passed from this life into the next great adventure on November 1, 2016. Her heart, which was bigger than Texas despite her slight build, ceased to beat. Her work here was done. She received the call to an appointment from which she will not return. The benefits of this appointment include a reunion with those she has long missed.

Ms. Etta was born October 5, 1926, the daughter of C.B. and Lillian Perdue. She lived a life that was full of love for family and her many friends. Her assignments included making jelly for those she loved; and her prayer shawl ministry. She blessed many with her love in action.

Among those who will miss her are: a daughter, Judy Byrd and her husband John; a son, Robert Lyons and his loving wife Nina; granddaughters Ashley Bayne and Jennifer Hart; grandsons Scott Rosegrant and Robert Lyons, Jr.; 7 great granddaughters, and 2 great grandsons. Others include her sister, Jeanette Gardner; and brothers Gene Perdue, his wife Marcella Perdue, C. B. Perdue and her granddog Gus, her beloved English Bulldog.

She is reunited with those she has not seen in a long time. These include: her parents; a brother Allen Perdue; and her husband, Robert Milton Lyons.

One of Ms. Etta’s favorite songs was “Just One Rose Will Do” by the Lewis family. Honoring her wishes the family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Emmaus Scholarship fund: Noah’s of Ark Walk to Emmaus, Attn: Scholarship Fund, 308 W. Main, Jacksonville, AR 72076.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 7th at First United Methodist Church El Dorado. The celebration of Ms. Etta’s life will follow at 11:00 A.M. First Methodist is at 201 S. Hill Ave., El Dorado.
