James Fred Tucker, 83, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, died Monday, January 10, 2011, in Dalton, Georgia. He was born October 22, 1927 in Kirby, Arkansas to the late Robert Gaylon Tucker and Theodosia Tolleson Tucker. James was a Baptist and a former owner of the Mary Carter Paint Store. He had many years of service in the Optimist Club and the Hot Springs Boys and Girls Club. He was a 1945 graduate of Hot Springs High School and a post WWII Veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Evelyn Henry Tucker and brother Robert Gene Tucker. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Henley Tucker; daughter and son-in-law Bettye Jo and Wayne Wilson; step-daughter Linda Whisenhunt; step-son Grady Henley; grandchildren Matt Clem, Jennie Howard, and Sarah Harrison; great-grandchildren Yurai Clem, Thuja Clem, Savannah Howard and Annalyse Howard; nephew Robert E. Tucker and niece Paula Bruce. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Files Cemetery. Pallbearers include Wayne Wilson, Matt Clem, Nate Harrison, Chris Howard, Robert E. Tucker and Grady Henley. Honorary pallbearers include former members of the Hot Springs Optimist Club and the Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors.
