David Harper Myers, 95, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at Concordia Care Center in Bella Vista. He was born May 14, 1906, in Greenville, Ky., to David Henry Myers and Roxy Harper Myers.

He taught mathematics and science and coached athletics for two years in consolidated high schools in Kentucky. He was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 43 years, retiring in 1970. He moved to Bella Vista in January 1978 from the Kansas City area. He was a member of the Bella Vista Community Church, Masonic Lodge No. 56, the Nomad Shrine of Bentonville, Ark., the Western Arkansas Scottish Rite Bodies, the Greeters, the Trinity Commandery York Rite Bodies of Tulsa, Okla., and the Nomad Shrine of Bella Vista, serving one year as president.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ruth McClellan Myers; and a son, William Duane Myers.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Myers; two sons, David Henry Myers of Rogers, Ark., and Robert McClellan Myers of Palm City, Fla.; two stepsons, Kenneth Larson of Kansas City, Mo., and Harold Larson of Seattle, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at the Bella Vista Community Church with the Rev. Richard Lindman.

Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children, 2001 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131-3597; or to the Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72714.
