Juanita Clora Cox, 85, of Searcy, passed from this life Friday, January 31, 2014. She was born May 27, 1928 in El Paso, Arkansas to the late Henry Thomas and Clora Elba Dixon Rains.
Mrs. Cox was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church. She was an avid oil painter and loved quilting, gardening, and fishing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Cox; three brothers, James W., Claud, and Clarence Rains; and one sister, Lucille King.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Cox; two brothers, Allie and John Earl Rains; three sisters, Geneva Cole, Florence Henderson, and Fay Hampton; her very special sister & brother in laws as well as 5 very special nieces, Donna, Faye, Jammie, Barbara, and Lana.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 3, in the Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Harmony Cemetery.

*When James Clayton Cox was born on November 15, 1927, in Shirley, Arkansas, his father, Archie, was 37 and his mother, Dortha, was 20. He married Juanita Clora Rains on October 8, 1956, in DeSoto, Mississippi. They had one child during their marriage. He died on March 2, 1983, in Searcy, Arkansas, at the age of 55.

Juanita Clora Rains was born on May 27, 1928, in El Paso, Arkansas. She married James Clayton Cox on October 8, 1956, in DeSoto, Mississippi. They had one child during their marriage. She died on January 31, 2014, in Searcy, Arkansas, at the age of 85.
