Martha Jane Dickerson was born on December 25, 1839, in Ohio. She married Joseph Jackson Beck on January 7, 1858, in McDonough, Illinois. They had five children in 12 years. She died on December 12, 1919, having lived a long life of 79 years, and was buried in Searcy, Arkansas.
