Rev. Charles R. Wood, 68, of Clarksville died Monday, May 27, 2002, at his home.
He was a son of the late Jeff Davis and Elsie K. Vinson Wood, former owner of Wood Tire Service for 25 years, Clarksville School bus driver for 13 years and a retired minister having pastored five churches in Johnson County since 1957 in addition to having a Sunday morning radio program for 24 years. He served as pastor of the Strawberry Assembly of God Church, Jamestown Assembly of God Church, Oakland Street Full Gospel Church and was founder and pastor of Trinity Chapel Pentecostal Church of God and Ozone Full Gospel Church. He was employed at Roller-Cox Funeral Home for three and one-half years prior to retiring in January 2000, and was preceded in death by one sister, Lorene Criss.

Survivors include his widow, Mary Lou Brown Wood; three daughters, Rebecca Butler and Bethany Dawson, both of Clarksville, and Carolyn Ranee Ricono of Monticello; six sons, Charles R. Wood Jr., John Wayne Wood and Brian Crossno, all of Clarksville, Paul Douglas Wood and Freddie Ray Wood, both of Springdale, and Ernie Wood of Springfield, Mo.; two sisters, Linda Brandenburg of Clarksville and Laura Estridge of North Little Rock; three brothers, John Wood and Norman Wood, both of Clarksville, and Bill Wood of Lubbock, Texas; 21 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bill Stewart, Finis Roberts, David Payne, Conard Villines, Melvin Vinson, and Kenneth Turpin. Obit "Johnson County Graphic"
