Erma Maxine Creech Nelson - December 27, 1931 - July 6, 2019.

Erma was the hardworking, responsible and helpful eldest of 11 children born to Lee and Ruth (Davis) Creech. Still living are Edna McCall, Mary Hillard, Katherine Mindoro, David Creech, Judy Jaques, Linda Dingledine, and Sandra Boyd, and a half-sister, Geneva (Million) Wooten. Both of her parents and brothers, Melvin, Donal and Larry, and a half-brother, Clinton Solomon, have preceded her in death.

Erma graduated from Rogers High School in 1949 as Salutatorian. She married Paul Ransom Nelson on October 7, 1950. They moved to Wisconsin shortly after and raised their two daughters, Paula Nelson and Brenda Everett (Gerald) in Wauwatosa, then Waukesha. Erma returned to school in the late 60's, earning an Associates Degree in Accounting from Waukesha Technical School. She then had a career with the state of Wisconsin Tax Department for 20 years.

After retiring in 1991, Paul and Erma moved to Lafayette, Colo., to be near children and grandchildren. Due to health issues, Paul and Erma moved in with Gerry & Brenda in Longmont, Colo., in 2003. After Paul's death in 2006, Erma continued to live with her family until shortly before her death. She was able to enjoy all three of her great-grandchildren: Genevieve and Vivienne, born to granddaughter Tiffany, and Trystan Logan; and Adelaide Walton, daughter of youngest granddaughter Amanda Everett. We will all miss "Grandma."

A joint celebration of Paul's and Erma's lives will be held at the New Hope Church of the Nazarene, 2701 W. New Hope Road, Rogers, Ark., on October 7th, 2019, at 11 a.m. Internment of their ashes and a graveside service will be at 2 p.m. at the Rogers Cemetery.
